PAGE 8 TERRACE BAY NEWS. : JUNE 9, 1971 " KENNEDY-NICKOLUK VOWS EXCHANGED IN TERRACE BAY St. Martin of Tours Catholic Church, Terrace Bay, was the seene of the May 22nd wedding of Loreen Susan Nickoluk and Jerald Joseph Kennedy, both of Toronto. Giant white mums adorned the altar and satin bows with . lily of the Valley decorated the pews. Father A, Greengrass officiated at the double ring cere- mony and organist was Mrs. Marg Simmer with Miss Janie Pers- son as solaist, The bride is the only daughter of Mr, and Mrs. Steve Rickoluk and the bridegroom is the eldest son of Mr. and Mrs, Joseph A, Kennedy, all of Terrace Bay. Given in marraige by her father, the bride wore a gown of Angel white hammered satin, featuring a straight skirt with a fitted bodice, a high Victorian collar and full shirtwaist sleeves, Bands of imported Swiss embroidered lace enhanced the bodice and waist and edged the collar and sleeves, A detachable chapel length train, edged in lace, flowed from the waist to compliment the gown, Her full length bouffant veil of tulle illusion was caught to a matching pill box headpiece. She carried a semi-cascade bouquet of orange ice roses with accents of baby breath and yellow streamers. The maid of Honour was Miss Linda Woodruff, Bridesmaids were Miss Lynda Kennedy and Miss Nancy lLapenskie, The Junior bridsameid was Miss Carol Kennedy and the flower girl was Dorothy Kennedy. . The Senior attendants wore mint green pant suits. The tunic tops had low scoop necklines and long angel sleeves. The bride's mother received wearing a champagne ivory for- trel dress with a matching rachel knit sleeveless coat. She wore a taupe hat, gloves and shoes and a corsage of orange ice roses. The bridegroom's mother wore a pink fortrel dress with matching scalloped lace coat and pink shoes. Her hat and gloves were navy and she wore a corsage of white carnations, For her going awey outfit the bride changed to a three - piece pant suit ensemble in off white and pink with a striped vest, She wore white shoes and carried a white crushed lea- ther handbag. In Terrace Bay, Lori was the guest of honour at a shower held in St, Martin's Church Hall with hostesses Misses Woodruff, Lapenskie and Mesdames Mitchell, Teskey, Young and Thomes. A rehearsal party was held at the home of Mr, and Mrs, J.A. Kennedy. JULY 1ST PROGRAMME FOR TERRACE BAY For the past few months, the Legion, the Recrea- tion Department and Town Council have been form- ulating plans for July Ist, 1971.
