PAGE 10 TERRACE BAY NEWS JUNE 9, "LEADER WATER SAFETY COURSE Application forms have now been received and in- terested candidates can get theirs at the Recreation Office. A reminder to interested swimmers that applicants must be 15 years of age at the time of ex- aminations for the course are held. Billets Required: At the time of this write-up, approximately eight out-of-town swimmers will be taking part in this Water Safety Course. Since it is ~ the host town's responsibility to billet these people, the Recreation Office would appreciate hearing from people who would be interested in billeting some of these swimmers. The responsibility of people taking billets would be to provide sleeping accommodation and breakfast only for a 5-day period, June 21st to 25th. The reimbursement for those taking billets would be $2.00 per day. IF YOU CAN TAKE IN A PERSON OR TWO, PLEASE CALL THE RECREATION OFFICE (3542) AND LEAVE YOUR NAME. ROLLER SKATING CONTINUES The next scheduled roller skating session is this Sunday, June 13th, from 6:30 to 9:00 p.m. All Recreation Association members must present their discs. Newly-taped music is provided for all sessions, so plan to take in the next session. AREA PLAYGROUND TRAINING - JUNE 27-30 For the first time in may years, the Area Play- ground Training Course will be hosted by another community on the North Shore = Manitouwadge . Terrace Bay will be sending four people to the course as this Area Training Course plays a very important part in the programme to be offered during the com-- ing summer weeks. SWIMMING PROGRAMME Registration forms for the swimming programme were circulated through all the schools last Friday, June 4th. IT IS IMPORTANT THAT EACH CHILD READ THE FORM PROPERLY AND WHEN COMPLETED, RETURN IT TO THE RECREATION OFFICE BY MONDAY, JUNE 14TH. The first set of classes for this year will not be starting until Monday, July 5th. Depending on weather conditions, the swimming pool will open around June 20th to be followed by a Water Safety Course from June 21st to 25th. Public swimming sessions will then be scheduled from June 26th to July 4th inclusive. A specific pool schedule will be publicized in next week's News as well as the swimming pool and Recreation Centre bulletin board. A reminder to all those taking swimming classes that Swim Pool membership in the Terrace Bay Recreation Association is mandatory . . Because of the new regulations in the Public Health Act covering public swimming pools, users of the pool this year will note some new rules and regulations fo be observed. All rules and regulations pertaining to the use of the Terrace Bay swimming pool will be posted accordingly and properly obeyed by all swimmers. TENNIS COURTS A reminder fo interested players that the courts are available for casual play for Recreation Associa- tion members only. Keys are available at the Recreation Office at $1.00 each, which is refund- able upon the return of the key. All we ask is that tennis players follow the following simple rules: - 1. Always use gate entrance; 2. Use wastepaper containers; 3. Wear proper footwear (running shoes) 4. Report any damage to the Recreation Office.
