INSTALL OFFICERS On April 18th, 1971 the Catholic Women's League of Canada, St. Martin of Tours council, Terrace Bay held their general meeting. Mrs. G. Dashkewytch opened the meeting with League Prayers and a passage from the Jerusalem Bible was read. The members recited a decade of the Rosary for the new executive to be installed after the election of officers. Mrs. L. McBride, secretary read the minutes of the last general meeting and correspon- dence followed. Mrs. A. Regis gave her financial report; the standing committee conveners tabled their reports and Mrs, G. Ramsay, church life convener mention- ed that a Mass will be said on April 26 for Our Lady of Good Counsel Patroness of the Catholic Women's League of Canada. All members are asked to be present. Coffee will follow. Mrs. McBride read a letter from the local associa- tion for Guides and Brownies asking for volunteers for leaders in the guide company and brownie pack. Any ladies who are interested in the movement as a leader could get in touch with Mrs, L. McBride. Mrs. G, Dashkewytch extended an invitation to all members to attend the 18th Annual Diocesan Convention on May 10-11-12 in Thunder Bay. The A theme of the Convention is "Hope, Through Justice To Peace". Members can leave their names with Mrs, Dashkewytch. There being no other matter to come before the general meeting, the meeting adjourned. Mrs. G. Dashkewytch, then called the Annual Meeting to order. The secretary Mrs. L. McBride, read the last annual meeting minutes and were accepted as read. Mrs. Dashkewytch, appointed Mrs, G. Ramsay to take the chair while she gave her Presidents report. To the executive, to the members of the various com= mittees and to all who had given their support and co-operation during her term of office, she extended her heartfelt appreciation, To the members of the League, she thanked them for giving her the privilege of offering her efforts this past year as President. continued page 11........ | |
