Further information on this will be given at the May meeting. The May 6th regualr meeting is being scheduled to take place in Rossport at their invitation and will be held at the newly~-renovated Rossport Recreation Community Centre. Mrs. Margaret Averill, Special Education Consultant for the Lake Superior Board of Education will be the guest speaker that evening. She will speak .on the work that the Special Educa- tion Programme has done in the Schreiber Public School during the 1970-71 school year. She will also speak on "What parents oan do for their children during the years prior to entering Kindergarten'. It is hoped that as many Schreiber members will attend as possible and everyone will meet at the Schreiber school at 7 p.m. where transportation will be available. There will also be an opportunity for Rossport parents to have interviews with the staff in Rossport prior to the mee- ting. Mrs. C. Wilde offered to convene the social to follow the meeting. Students from Grades 4 to 8 in both the Public and Se- parate Schools in Schreiber will be allowed to attend the Choral Conscert to be held on Tuesday afternoon, May 4th in the Schreiber High School. This is a Mixed Choir from the 'University of Western Ontario, London, Ontario and is being sponsored by the St. John Ambulance Association in Schreiber. BOOK PRESENTED TO LIBRARY The book "One Million Children" was presented to the Schreiber Public Library by the Schreiber-Terrace Bay Dist riot Association for the Mentally Retarded, Roly Sinotte making the presentation, This highly significant publication is the result of more than three years! study set up by the Canadian Mental Health Association, Canadian Welfare Council, Canadian Education Asgoc., Canadien Conference on Children and Youth, Canadian Association for the Mentally Retarded and Canadian Council for the Rehabilitation of the Disabled. The book deels with the developing child, the child as a student, new proposals and programs, the child in residential treatment, the role of the various helping professions and the citizens? role, Photo. ROSSPORT TOWN TOPICS Mr. and Mrs. Romeo Bouchard have returned from Sudbury. Mrs. Dominic Martin of Fort William is visiting relatives here over the weekend. Mr. and Mrs, C. Wilde and family were Thunder Bay visitors on Easter weekend. Mrs, Chas. W. Todesco returned Thursday from Port Arthur General Hospital. Mrs. Jack Campbell motored to Port Arthur to accompany her husband home from St. Joseph's Hospital for the Easter week- end, Weekend visitors with Mr. and Mrs. Todesco were Mr. and Mrs. J.R. Douglas of Beardmore and Manlio Todesco from Mani- touwadge. Mr, and Mrs. Eugene Cerow were lakehead visitors last weekend, Mr, and Mrs, Alfred Gerow and family of Prince Rupert, Saske visited with the Eugene Gerow's recently. Camille and Herb Legault visited relatives at the Lakehead on the weekend, Under scientific management, renewable resources such as forests, fish and wildlife can be periodically harvested for- ever.
