Permission was received from the municipal council to make the canvas for funds for the Salvation Army, which the auxiliary has done annually for some years. Mrs. Pat Moore agreed to convene the arrangements. Mrs. Georgina Davis, who presided for the April meeting, and Mrs. Jean Crook were named delegates to the meeting in Nipigon on April 24, with Mrs. Bea McCuaig as alternate. Plans were completed for the penny auction May 28 with Mrs. Jean Crook convening, who asked each member to donate three articles. Decision on delegates to attend the Legion conven- tion in Winnipeg on June 6-9 was held over until the next meeting. The program and arrangements for the birthday din- ner on May 15, the auxiliary's 24th anniversary, were discussed and it was agreed to send invitations to White River, Marathon, Terrace Bay and Nipigon auxiliary. There will be a cocktail hour followed by the dinner and a social evening. Mrs. Pat Moore in giving the financial statement reported there are thirty-four members with some dues yet to be paid. Members were reminded that they are to bring a small gift for a draw to mark their birthdays and also pay a penny for each year into the special fund. It was noted that of the twenty chapter members, six still belong to the auxiliary. The minutes were read by Mrs. Earline Johnson, with Mrs. Joe Costall as warden and Mrs. Ethel Smith, pianist. DRIVER EDUCATION GRADUATES Congratulations are extended to the following students who received their certificates for successfully completing the Driver Education Course at Schreiber High School this year: Debbie Armstrong, Linde Birch, Paul Caccamo, Susanne Dzioba, Carson Fischer, Herbert Holmes, Evelyn lark, Lawrence Madge, Gerry McBride, Sheiles McParland, Max Miller, Rita Pellegrino, Susan Phillips, Alanna Power, William Smilsky and John Souliere Mr. W. Dukes was the instructor for the course. STUDENTS DEPART FOR GUELPH UNIVERSITY Virginia May, Patrick McParland and Dale Sisson have been accepted at Guelph University in the Spring Admission Semester. They will register at the University on May 3, 1971.
