AUXILIARY PLAN PENNY AUCTION MAY 2ND The Ladies Auxiliary to the Royal Canadian Legion held their April meeting with Mrs. P. Coupal, presiding. After the various reports were given, a discussion was held to hold a penny auction and cas- val card party on May 2nd, in the Legion Club room at eight o'clock. Members will be contacted for donations for same. Since no letters from district auxiliaries were receiv- ed regarding a bowling social, plans could not be fin- 'alized for this event. Mrs. D. Gunter was to contact Schreiber Auxiliary for a return bout to a Shuffleboard tournament. Harry Gusal informed he has beautiful trophies to be given away to the winners. The highlight of the meeting was when President, P. Coupal initiated twelve new members to the auxiliary. They were mes- dames Young, Randa, Oksanen, Sopel, Cvitkovich, Calder, Beddard, Opas, Latour, Lundberg, Ratchford and Clancy. Past President Mrs. S. Ballentine had the honour of installing a newly elected treasurer, Mrs. B. Megraw. Mrs. V. Thorpe, pending a transfer from Schreiber Auxiliary was also in attendance. Since July Ist is a Centennial Birthday, it was sug- gested that since many ladies had their centennial gowns and klondike day gowns, that the theme of dress be carried out through the day and evening". ~The lucky winner of the Pot of Gold was won by Mrs. H. Milks. WOMEN OF THE MOOSE MEETING Women of the Moose Chapter 1426 held their membership chapter night meeting on April 7th with acting chairman Betty Oksanen in charge of the programme . Senior Regent Alice Yates presided and welcomed all members present. Minutes of previous meeting and financial report were read. Correspondence was dealt with and thank you cards were read from Anne Todesco, Gail Gould and Alice Werezynski. Helen Almos agreed to be chairman of the nominating committee. Various projects coming up were discussed with conveners to be named at next meeting. Raffle was won by Helen Almos and Alma Moquin - won the pot of gold. Meeting adjourned fo meet again on April 21st. Betty Oksanen and Bernice Williams served a lovely lunch. : NOTICE Mrs. Margaret Averill, Special Education Con- sultant, will be guest speaker at the regular meet- ing of the Ladies Auxiliary of the Community Church, on May 3rd at 8:15 p.m. All ladies of the community are invited to attend. MOTHER'S DAY BRIDGE, TEA AND BAKE SALE The Grade 8 class of Terrace Bay Public School | will sponsor a Mother's Day Bridge, Tea and Bake Sale on May 5th at 8 p.m. in the Community Church basement. Tickets are $1.00 for bridge and 50¢ for the tea. Tickets are available from any grade 8 student. Everyone Welcome!
