Rating = cont'd from page 1 .... Lyle Nicol, Senior Champion of the Terrace Bay Ski Club, was awarded his assistant ski instructors rating by the Canadian Ski Instructors Alliance on March 27th. The award followed a week long training and examination session which is generally regarded as a gruelling test of skiing ability. The session was held at the Loch Lomond Ski Club in Thunder Bay. : The rank of Assistant Ski Instructor will enable Lyle to teach professionally at any ski club in North America which offers the Canadian Ski Technique. This includes many resorts in the U.S.A. Lyle's European Skiing experience has no doubt contributed to his polished style. In 1969 he skied at Davos, Zermatt and St. Moritz = all in Switzerland. This year he returned to Switzerland fo ski the Bernevse and Solacyre. A perennial club champion at Terrace Bay, Lyle was also club champion at Little Norway Ski Club, Thunder Bay, in 1970. He has also been head instructor at the Terrace . Bay Ski Club a number of times in past years. We're proud of you "Nick". You've shown us that if a guy from a small town Club tries, he can make it with the best of them. luck with your skiing career. Best of RECREATION BRIEFS = By Jerry Dupas BRIDGE CLASSES START APRIL 14TH Final details have now been completed and Bridge Classes will be starting on Wednesday evening, April 14th, at 7:30 p.m. in the Craft Room of the Recreation Centre. All those who signed up for the course are reminded that the registration fees are as follows: = Recreation Association members - $5.00; Recreation Association non-members - $7.50. The registration fees includes instruction and all materials required for the classes. For further information concerning these Bridge Classes, call the Recreation Office at 3542. LADIES" FITNESS The Recreation Office is now accepting names of ladies interested in taking part in a fitness programme over a four-to-six week period.
