PAGE 8 TERRACE BAY NEWS MARCH 4, 1971 SKI CLUB NEWS The 1971 Ski season continues at a very active pace as shown by some of the accompanying photos. Club membership is now over the 100 mark and the four regular ski periods per week have been very well attended - expecially on weekends. Ski instruction for beginners and intermediate skiers takes place on Saturday mornings - attendance has averaged around thirty showing that a goodly number of our skiers are anxious to improve their technique. "Advanced" classes are held Sunday afternoons. The Saturday morning race league is a new teature added to the club program this year and has generated | lots of enthusiasm. Club facilities include a main hill with 160 foot vertical drop and a 600 foot run lighted for night skiing, three back trails, a 600 foot government approved rope tow and a heated chalet with snack bar. Visitors are always welcome to drop in and watch the action! Of course, an operation such as ours just doesn't happen without a lot of volunteer help from members and community minded non-members alike - tow operators, first aiders, work party helpers, ski instructors and ski patrollers.
