PAGE 12 TERRACE BAY NEWS MARCH 4,1 LEGION AUXILIARY CELEBRATES ANNIVERSARY The gracious ladies of the Ladies Auxiliary of the Royal Canadian Legion, Branch 223, played hostess on Saturday evening when they celebrated their eighth anniversary . The form their hospitality took was one sure to interest devotees of the table art. The menu was designed to show off the culinary capabilities of the ladies, who took great pride in the art of cookery, in serving sixteen of the original dishes. Throwing all caution to the winds, calorie wise, the members and guests viewed a table setting laden with such tasty recipes, fit for any Patrician palate - sweet and sour Chinese dishes, rice, Italian Lasagna, Grama's Baked beans, salads, cabbage rolls and a variety of meats. And of course there is no proof that Jupiter served beef stew at the Olympian meals, or that the Greek Gourmet "Soteriades the Sagi" served Skodolia to Ne Nero and Cleopatra, or that the Dutch served Snitz- Knipp, but none can compare with the piguant flavour of Mary's Bouf Bourguignon one of the noblest standbys of La Cuisine Franciosa. Catering to this joyous event were Pam Jones and Ethel Boyd. Coursages, compliments of the executive, were presented to President Dorothy Coupal and Past President Dorothy Ballentine. The birthday cake was cut by Dorothy Coupal and Stella Gusul . Out of town guests included Mesdames Davis, McCuaig, Delorande and Chepelsky . The doll prize was won by Mrs. B. McCuaig. The gala evening was followed by dancing, with music by Peanuts and Company. Ski Club Photos - cont'd from page 8 ...... MEN'S CURLING - Cont'd from page 9 ...
