TOWN TOPICS INAUGURATION CEREMONIES HIGHLIGHT Inauguration ceremonies took place in the Terrace Bay Council Chambers on Monday morning, January 11th, at 11 a.m., when Reeve Cavanaugh, Coun- cillors Roy Bray, Jack Caccamo and new comers Alan Chisholm and Joseph Kennedy took the Oath of Office for the ensuing two years. : Reverend J. Edward O'Flaherty, s.j. gave the Invocation, asking in God's loving concern for the temporal and moral and spiritual well-being of all His children, that the Council in its authority and leadership might impart a spirit of impartial justice and fairness in all its dealings with every citizen and institution. He asked that they might be given Divine guidance, strength and comfort to sustain them in their duties, and to keep their courage high in times of trial and frustation. Reeve Cavanaugh thanked Father O'Flaherty for taking the time to attend the Inauguration. The Reeve then welcomed back the two councillors who had been returned fo office and the two new members, and hoped for the continued co-operation he had had in the past. In his Inaugursl address, he assured each councillor that they would find Municipal polities interesting and rewarding. He reminded councillors that as chairman of each committee it was their duty to maintain ea good and cordial relationship at all times, although all major de- cisions would be decided by Council. He stated that the program during this term of office will consist of the completion of lakeview extension, the maintenance and upgrading of sidewalks, curbs and roads, purchase signs for the sewage lagoon, view of the everincreasing number of accidents and noise from snow machines, and consideration of restrictive legislation for these machines, within municipal boundaries and also to consider the increase in Police protection.
