JOHN SOULIERE PLACES FIRST On Wednesday, January 13th, Janet Lengyel and John Souliere competed in the Area Public Speaking Contest held in Geraldton. Janet entered the prepared section, and although she didn't place first, she gave an excellent speech. John placed first in the impromptu section, and will proceed to Thunder Bay for the Zone finals on February 26th. Congratulations are extended to Janet an d John. reme-- -- SCHREIBER TEAMS WIN IN MANITOUWADGE The Schreiber boys and girls basketball teams travelled to Manitouwadge on Wednesday, January 13th. In two exciting games, both Schreiber teams emerged victorious with scores of the games as follows: = Girls = Schreiber 25; Manitouwadge 21. Boys - Schreiber 45; Manitouwadge 39. SCHREIBER WINS MacDONALD TROPHY On Friday, January 15th, the Terrace Bay Junior and Senior Boys' Teams played in Schreiber. In the Junior game, Terrace Bay Boys won by a score of 11-5. The Senior Boys were playing for the Sir John A. MacDonald Trophy, and Schreiber retains the trophy for another year by winning with a score of 49-37. All teams are to be congratulated for their excel- lent efforts and sportsmanship.
