JANUARY 14, 1971 TERRACE BAY NEWS PAGE 10 KENT-MOORE VOWS EXCHANGED Pink and white carnations graced the Chancel with white mums on the Altar of the Community Church, when Cheryl Ann Moore and David George Kent exchanged their wedding vows in a Candlelight service on January 2, at 5.30 p.m. Rev. A. Chabat performed the.double ring ceremony. Cheryl is the anly daughter of Mrs. John Rapchan, and David is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Robert Kent, of Peterborough. Escorted up .the aisle hy her brother Michael Moore, the bride was given in marriage by her mother, She was gowned in white Plyester cripe, featuring the Empire waist line, high neck, with a deep inverted pleat in the back falling sofety from the high waist into a train. Princess lines were accent- ed by nylon rose applique down thr front and back and around thr train. Her shoulder length veil was of bouffant tiered illusion net, held in place by an irridescent flower spray. She carried a Cascode bouquet of pink carnations. Miss Judy MeInnes was the maid of Honour, Mrs. Joanne Moore, atron of Honour, and the grooms! sister, Janice Kent was Bridesmaid. They were.gowned alike in Burgundy silk velvet, floor length.and sleeveless, fashioned like the brides dress with the inverted pleat in the back, accented by & self bow at the waist. They wore long white gloves, and pink rose bude in their hair and carried a glant white mum in a nosegay, with pink patin streamers. : The best man wes the grooms' brother, Alan Kent, and the ushers were the brides two brothers, Michael Moore and David Ba jkiewiocz. Mrs. Marg Simmer was the organist. For a reciption dinner at the Moose Hall, the Brides Mother received wearing an A line dress in purple crepe, featuring silver jeweled. trim and silver shoes, with a purple whimsey az her head dress. She wore a mauve carnation and lily of the vellsy corsage. Mrs. Kent received wearing a turquoise A line sheath dress with matching coat, with beaded neckline, silver accessories and a yellow carnation corsage. Michael Moore was Master of Ceremonies, and the Toast to the Bride was given by John Rapchan, to which the groom responded. Toast to the Bridesmaids was given by Alan Kent. The Guest Book was circulated by Miss Rosemary Pattison. The bride was honoured at a shower at the Community Church, prior to her marriage, hosted by Mrs. T. Olsen and Mrs, S. Lundberg. For travelling, the bride donned a two piece suit in Antique green velour plush, with brown accessories and a pink carnation corsage. Mr and Mrs. Kent will reside in Toronto. Out of town guests included the grooms family, Mr. and Mrs, R, Kent, sons Alen and Dennis, and daughter, Janice, ell of Peterborough. Mr. and Mrs. George Rapchan and Bob, of Sault Ste. BASKETBALL TEAM UNDEFEATED TO DATE Report by Paulette Coupal Geraldton Games: Dec. 17, 1970 - In Geraldton The first game to play was against the Junior Geraldton Boys. It was a hard, well fought game and Terrace lost to a score of 28-15. High Scorer for the game was Bevin Schritt with a total of 6 points. The Senior Girls game was next and we had a hard time getting started. We were losing at 1/2 time but as time ticked off we gained the baskets. continued in next column wieiete vie etnies a fight to the finish. We lost to a very close scdre of | 33; and Spitfires 32. The final score was 42-29 for Terrace . Gail Simmer was the top scorer for the gils bringing in a total of 17 points. The Senior Boys was well fought and 38-35 for Geraldton. Jim Corrigan was high scorer with 15 points. Schreiber Games: Dec. 21, 1970 - In Schreiber The Senior Girls got the games off to a good start by bringing in many baskets. The game ended in a score of 51-13 in favor of our girls. High scorer was again Gail Simmer bringing in 23 points with Gerry Belliveau backing her with 16 points. The 1 Senior Boys played next and p t on a strong fight but = were defeated. High scorer was Jim Corrigan. : Nip-Rock Games: Jan. 8, 197] - In Terrace Bay The first to play were the Junior Boys who brought in their first victory of the season. High scorer was Randy Bolan who brought in 9 points and Pat Heenan backed him with 4 points. The game ended in a score of 19-12 for Terrace. The Senior Girls were next to play and were again victorious: The score at the end of the game was 59-23 for Terrace Bay with Gail Simmer bringing in 35 points = breaking the school record for most points in a Senior & Girls game. Lost to play were the Senior Boys who fought a heated game leading at 1/2 time 26-22 for Terrace we lost to a score of 58-50 at the end of the game.
