A group of Carol Singers toured the village calling at the homes on Christmas Eve. Among those were Lorraine Seppala, Maxine Hubelit, Camilla Todesco, Shirley Bouchard, Alice Bouchard, Joyce Mushqush, Agnes Mushqush, Leona Goodchild, Lau- rie Ann Mushqush, Raymond Goodchild, Albert Ray, Robert Bouchard, Floyd Harnden, Mrs. Jack Camp= bell and Mrs. Josephine Gerow. It has happened at last. Rossportites always prided themselves on being able to have outdoor Christmas decorations. This year there are some beautiful de- corations for the festive season. Most of the homes, a tug and the R.C. Church crib and grotto are a work of art. But someone or persons decided other=- wise. Coloured bulbs are being taken from homes and the outdoor crib at the church. If this continues, the residents will hesitate to continue the practice of Christmas decorations in the future. COMMITTEE CHOSEN FOR COMMUNITY CENTRE Twenty-one villagers turned out to the meeting in the schoolhouse Sunday evening to choose a commit- tee to operate the building as a community centre of some kind. These included five teenagers and eight taxpayers. T.F. Seppala was acting chairman and Anne Todesco as secretary of the meeting. The sum of $119.00 was collected to start the finances rolling = sixty dollars was from the village and fifty- nine dollars from outside sources. The Shell Qil Co. and Gulf Oil Co. each donated 100 gallons of oil for the winter. The deed of the property is in the process of being transferred to trustees C. Todesco, Herb Legault, M. Hubelit and T. Seppala. The elected committee is J. Joiner, C. Wilde, R. Lanigan, C. Downey and R. Bouchard. CHRISTMAS CONCERT HELD A Christmas Concert was held in the Community Hall Monday evening, put on by the children of the village. Albert Ray was the chairman.
