PAGE 18 | TERRACE BAY NEWS DECEMBER 10, 1970 SCHREIBER CURLING CLUB NEWS On Friday and Saturday, December 4th and 5th, the Schreiber Curling Club sponsored a Turkey Shoot in the Curling Rink, "Twenty-two" rifles were used and each participant was allowed five shots whish could yield a possible 50 points. The marksmen who were able to win turkeys as a result of their skill were as follows: - Women - Mrs. Cole, Mrs, L. Kruger, Mrs. M. Anderson, Mrs. M. Gorham and Mrs. E, Nesbitt; Men - F, Roen, R, Campbell, R, Magi, R. McParland, R. McAdam, R. Harty, G. Moors, N. Nesbitt, C. Commisso, W. Tiper, W. Zaporzan, R. Moore, J. McAdam, F, Bevilacqua, G. Godin, L, Christianson, I, Imbeault, G. Figliomeni, A. Gleason, M, Cosgrove, M, Tremblay, K. Kagmiereczak, J. Conly, O, Strausser; J. Armstrong, J. Smith, B. Holmes, T, Pestetien, B, Bireh and R, Kinney. Some of these "sharp-eyes" were able te win twe turkeys. 3 Three other winners in the Turkey draws were Mrs. M, Fer- land, Mrs, Jo Niemi and Mr. N. Walker. The Sehreiber Curling Club extends appreciation to all whe supperted this event, and alse to these people whe don- ated their time, effert, foed and guns. SCHREIBER KIN CORNER - 25TH ANNIVERSARY NIGHT The Kinsmen Club of Schreiber celebrated it?s 25th Anniver sary of Kinsmenship in the area, on Friday, December 4th, The festivities, which were held in the Schreiber Tewn Hall, commenced with a cocktail heur, followed by a delicious supper prepared by the ladies of the Schreiber Curling Club, After the beuntiful meal, danoing to the versatile music of the "Midnite Hour" was enjoyed by guests, former Kinsmen and Kinsmen, Kin President, Michael Cosgrove was the master of ceremon- ies during the supper heur. Head table guests included Keith Penner, M.P,, Jack Stokes, M.P.P. and Mrs. Stokes, Reeve Fred Harness and Mrs. Herness, Deputy Kinsmen Governor ¥W. Maydo and Mrs. Maydo and Schreiber Kinsmen President and Mrs, Cesgrove. In addition te bringing greetings from the federal govern- ment, Mr, Permer recalled his own enjoyable and valuable experienses in Kinsmenship. Currently, he is charter member of the Kinsmen Club ef Dryden and a past president, Mr. Stokes congratulated the local elub on-behalf of the provin- cial gevernment and referred to hig activities as a former member ef the Kinsmen Club of Schreiber. Reeve Fred Harness was called on to accept a certificate documenting his honorary membership in the Schreiber Club, He commented on the many velusble services whish are perform ed in the area by the local Kinsmen association. One of the highlights ef the evening wes the presentation of plaques te twe sharter members of the Kinsmen Club of Sehreibsr, Beth Kin Alex Gordon and Kin Peter Speziale were original members of the asscoiation when it was formed in I945. Both have been very active in Kinsmen affairs and have diligently served both the Kinsmen Club and the sommunity, Xin Alex Gordon reminisced over his twenty-five years of Kinsmonship and stated "that it had become a way of live for himself and his wife," Greetings and congratulatiens were extended by Deputy Governor Bill Maydo and alse representatives of the Kinsmen Club of Schreiber, 7 During the dance, a set of Kinsmen party glasses was wen by Mrs, J, Trichilo. The co-chairmen of this successful and memereble event were Kin Bob Cressman and Kin Michael Heid. The money cellected through this project will be used by the Student Council fer the students! activities. It is heped that you will support the students when they come canvessing at your door.
