The victim is survived by his wife RacHel Brunet and several children residing at Noranda. Funeral Services were held for the victim at Noranda on October 23, 1970. Investigations were carried out by Provincial Constable C.R. Duffy. This tragedy marks the first of an otherwise fatality- free year for this area. A minor side-swipe collision occurred on the C.P.R. Overhead Bridge 2 1/2 miles east of v Schreiber at approximately 12:30 p.m. October 18, 1970. Approximately $150.00 damage was sustained when vehicles driven by Douglas James Whicker, Terrace Bay and Pavalo Peter Pellegrino, Schreiber came into collision. No injuries were sustained. The occurrence was investigated by Provincial Constable J.E. Wills. On October 21st , 1970 the proprietress of the Birch Grove Motel, Schreiber reported the theft of a small table from a unit at the motel. This matter is still under investigation. On October 21st, 1970 at 9:00 p.m. a quantity of beer was seized from a vehicle owned by James Phillip Comeau, Schreiber. A passenger in the vehicle Samuel David Lyons, age 22, 104 Hill St. Schreiber was charged with having liquor in a place other than residence. Comeau, age 18, was charged with having liquor under the age of 21 years. A 19 year old Schreiber resident, Eddie Louis Comeau, 306 Mary Street has been charged with causing a disturbance, being unlawfully in a licens- ed premises and damage to Government property as the tesult of an occurrence at Mayfair Hotel, Octob- er 22, 1970 at about 1:00 a.m. Comeau will appear in Provincial Court, Schreiber on November 3, 1970. Two separate instances of minor drinking under the age of 21 years were investigated. Charges were laid against Keith David Gorman, age 19, 450 Princess Ave., Terrace Bay and Judy Richardson age 18, of 305 Main Street, Schreiber. Minor disturbances were investigated at the Hacquoil Construction Camp, Schreiber and the - Pays Plat Indian Reserve. No charges were laid. Both occurrences took place on the evening of all others in a position to affect the safety of these little ones that you do everything in your power to ensure this year is free of any tragic events.
