Ballentine presiding. After the usual varied reports were given, plans were being finalized for the Armistice Dinner with Mrs. Jim St. Louis convener and Mrs. Harold Milks assistant convener. Also, Remembrance Day Tea to be held at St. Martin's Church basement. Mrs. C. Koski and Mrs. C. Smith to convene this. Tickets are available from any auxiliary member. There will also be a Bazaar Table, Bake Table and Fish Pond for the kiddies. Conveners for these are Mrs. H. Milks, Mrs. G. Burns and Mrs. D. Gunter. Mrs. Paul Coupal is in charge of the Poppy Sale. PRESS RELEASE A bizare, early morning, motor vehicle collision, October 23rd, 1970, claimed the life of Osten Bru- net, age forty-four of 219 Carter Avenue, Noranda, Quebec. The victim employed by V.D. Lamothe Limited, Norand, Quebec, was operating a tractor-trailer unit owned by the Company, Easterly on Highway 17, at approximately 6:30 a.m. When attempting to negotiate a single lane on the '| C .P.R. Overhead Bridge Rossport, the vehicle came into collision with a concrete abutment on the north side of the bridge. Witnesses at the scene stated immediately following the violent collision the unit ex- ploded into intense fire, affording no opportunity to remove the victim from the tractor cab. Department of Lands and Forests personnel and equipment from Terrace Bay called to the scene, extinquished the fire which had completely engulfed the unit. Corner Dr. A.B. Adey, Terrace Bay, viewed the remains at the scene and released the body to McNally Funeral Home, Schreiber.
