She spent some time with friends in Beamsville, with he '-ighter in Warren, Ohio and fwo weeks with her grand niece in Florida. Mr .and Mrs. John Knight have returned after a holiday when they took Tom to register in Waterloo then ~ to visit in St.Catherines and Rochester, N. XY. Mr .and Mrs. Ken Weppler, Mr.and Mrs.Ted Brown, Mr .and Mrs .E.J.Morgan and Mr.and Mrs. S.Lund- berg spent the weekend in Thunder Bay (N), where they took part in the annual visitation between Lakeside Lodge, Duluth and Port Arthur Lodge, A. F.&A.M., ; Friday evening, out of town visitors were enter- tained at a Hospitality Hour in the North Shore Motor Hotel. Saturday evening, following the meeting, members of both Lodges and guests were entertained at a Smorgasbord in the North Shore Dining Room "followed by a Fashion Show with com- ~ mentator Mrs.P. Potts of the Lakehead Modelling School and some of her models, and then dancing was enjoyed by all. Miss Bonnie Dorland visited her parents recently, before taking up new duties in Intensive Care Unit of the Trenton Memorial Hospital . SHOWER FOR BRIDE-ELECT Elizabeth Hayes, Bride-elect, was honoured at a shower held in St.Martin's Church Hall with Mrs. Lise Bougie as hostess. Seated at a decorated head table under a pink umbrella, the bride was accom- panied by Mrs.Singleton, Diane Singleton and Meredith Coe, who assisted with the gift list. Miss Linda Singleton was in charge of the Guest Book at the door . Seated at individual tables, the guests were ser= ved by members of the Figure Skating Club, Sharon Bougie, Debbie Opas, Alice and Anita Stuart, Darlene Suo, Linda Dejonghe, Rosemary Pattison, Jackie Turner and Carla Calder. In charge of kitchen arrangements was Mrs.Louise Stuart. The bride received many lovely gifts and each guest was presented with a Souvenir Candy Basket with the name and date inscribed on it. LEGION LADIES PLAN OCTOBER SOCIAL The Auxiliary to the Royal Canadian Legion, Branch 223, held their first fall meeting with Mrs. S.Ballentine presiding. After the various reports were given, plans were discussed for the Armistice Tea and Poppy Day. All committees were formed to participate in this memorable day=--Tea, Bazaar, Bake Table, Fish Pond And Poppy Campaign. Mrs . Ballentine draped the Charter in memory of the late Auxiliary member , Mrs. Elsie Fedorak and a two-minute silence was observed. Continued P.7 =-- - n nn
