PRESS RELEASE BY JACK STOKES MPP THUNDER BA - Jack Stokes MPP Thunder Bay has been advised that John Leonard Scott, former OPP Constable at Dryden, Kenora and Pickle Lake, has been appointed Northern Affairs Officer at Marathon. Mr. Scott has a keen awareness of Northern Affairs and was a miner before joining the OPP. He has had considerable experience in publicity and public relations while serving with the force. Mr. and Mrs. Scott and their three young chil- dren will take up residence in Marathon as soon as the necessary arrangements can be made. The Northern Affairs Office will be located in' 'the Marathon Recreation Centre. INTRODUCING CARE LABELLING The Department of Consumer and Corporate Af- fairs have announced plans to introduce distinctive labels on the Eare of fabrics. Sometimes colours run, clothing shrinks or the material is ruined by heat. Commercial dry cleaners and launderers also have to contend with irate customers and unecessary expense because of fabric domage. Sometimes the fabric itself is faulty, but all too often the harm comes from improper washing, cleaning or pressing. In most cases consumers damage garments becouse they da not know the proper way fo treat them.
