Barghor of Harvard University, Carlisle, Mass., with guide Ray Kenney was here on a fishing trip. Both have travelled round the world twice seeking zoology and geogology information. They were accompanied by Professor Stanley M. Awrinck, Museum of Comparative Zoology, Harvard University, Cambridge, Mass. Dr. Bryan Phillips and Mr. Parkins of the Lakehead University, Department of Geography spent a few days here recently doing research work on water level and determine the winds and old shorelines back in history hundreds of years ago. Respons- ible subjects were located and restitution was made by them. One report was received of an alleged theft to camera, which is still under investigation. There were two motor vehicle collisions this past week, which resulted in approximately $3,650.00 damage . There were fifteen warnings issued regarding min- or infractions and defective equipment and one charge was laid under the provisions of the Highway Traffic Act. HOLY ANGEL'S HARP - 3RD DAY Monday was scheduled for a i..u of Toronto. We started out early that morning, going first to the Maple Leaf Gardens We were amazed by the size of the rink, We were taken all over the gardens, even to Tom Jone's dressing room where he was appearing Thursday night. later in the afternoon we went to Toronto island by subway and then we were to take a ferry to the Island. We were really shocked to see Lake Ontario. We almost had to hold our breath because the smell was so terrible, We were emused playing miniature golf. After' spending an hour at the island we went back to the mainland and to City Hall. We went to the very top and could feel ourselves swaying back and forth. When the tour of City Hall was over we took another Subway to Casa Loma the famous castle. It was very thrilling when we were teken thro ugh secret panels i underground tunnels. Our walking tour was then over and our feet were then finished, That day will never be forgot- ten because some of our swelling has not gone down yet. The supper 'at St. Mike's was appreciated. But it wasn't over because at 7.00 we had to walk to the Globe and Mail There we were teken all over the building end were able to watch the next morning paper being made, We were each given a paper right off the press and they probebly will be treasured, We returned back to the college and went straight to bed. Reports come in from South, East and West of un- precedented heat and humidity. We who live in Terrace Bay are fortunate to be able to enjoy the sun and also have those cooling breezes from Lake Superior. Many families enjoyed the facilities at Jackfish Lake over the weekend while large numbers invaded the closer and lovelier Lake Superior beach- es. Children and adults frolicked in the sparkling water, boats and canoes were evident, fires were lit and lunches prepared while others just burrowed their curves into the soft white sand and relaxed. 1
