Present work is in this department. Mike Dobush, wife Mary and 3% yr. old daughter Elizabeth /nn now living at 175 Birch Crescent. Born and educated in Dauphin, Manitoba, Mike worked for Brompton Pulp & Popor Co, and on a variety of other jobs before coming to our mill on May 25/50, Joining the company as a jackladder lnbour- er, he is now employed ~s a Chip Bin Tender in the Wood Room, Robert Harrison, wife Hazel and child- ren Janice and Philip now resident at 450 Princess .wve. Born at Laurier, Manitoba and educated in Manitoba Schools, Bob was engaged in farming for 11 years. He joined the Kimberly-Clark farm system here nt Long Lae on May 12/52 as a Wood Handling labour- er, and since July 23/52 has been working in the Service Dept. crew, Alan Ward and wife Agnes ("Gus") arc now tenants at 441 Superior ..wve. Born and cducatcd in Fort William, Alan worked ns a shoe store manager and leter as a Yardman with the C.P.R. before joining Longlac as a Wood Handling labourcr on March 7/52, Since Lpril 7/52, he hns been in the Tech- nical Department where present job is Pulp Inspector. A new Ward at the Terrance Bay hospital became a reality when wife "Gus" became a nurse there, starting Sept. 10/52. She had previously been at Port [rthur General Hospital and at University Hospital in Minneapolis, Prior to moving to their new residence, the Wards sub-let quarters at 37 Pine Crescent. Jaroslav (Jorry) Papousek, wife .nne and son Pnul are now living ot 52 Hudson Drive. Born in Czechoslovakia, Jerry came to Canada in December, 1949, and worked for Simpson's in Toronto before joining Longlac on May 16/51 as a Service Dept. labourer. Transferring to Steam Dept. on June 26/51, Jerry is now a Low Pressure Boiler Fireman. /fnne worked for some time as a Desk Clerk at Hotel Terrace. They had sub-let quarters for several months with the Holancin's at 220 Kenogomi Rd. Ed fho and wife Merle are now living at 17C4A Birch Crescent. Born at Ports frthur and educeted at Geraldton, Ed was employed at Benrdmore and Geraldton before coming with Longlac as a Wood Yard labourer on May 10/49. Since marringe on May 21/52, Ed and Merle had , lived in Schreiber before obtaining a house allotment here. Robt. Wishart and wife Dorothy May now resident at 460 Fort Gerry Rd. Born at Port 4rthur and educated there and «6 Winnipeg, Bob held verious jobs in selling and constr- uction at the Lakehead prior to joining Longlac on May 28/52, He has been with the Structural crew since that date and is now Truck Driver for that crew. Dorothy has been working for the past few wecks at the local branch of the Imperial Bank of Canada. Sam Zielke, wife Stella and little ones Shirley ond Carol, are now at 456 Fort Garry Rd, at Winnipeg, Sam was employed by Manitoba Telephone Co, and North /Zmerican Buildings Ltd. of innipeg prior to joining LonglLac on May 14/51 as a Vacation relief man in the Pulp Conversion Dept. His present occupation is Balerman in that department. Leslie Pryor, wife Catherine and family now: resident at 476 Superior lve, Family is mrde up of two sons, Donald Norman and Kenn- eth, and twin daughters Sharon Lec and Shirley Diane, the twins being five years old next March, Born and ecducatcd ot Emerson Manitoba, Les wae employed in Cranbrook, B.C. before coming to work at Terrace Bay on Oct. 2/51 as a Wood Handling Labourer. He has been in the Pulp Conversion Dept. since Nov. 1/51 as a Cleaner and Utility Man. Jack Dawson and wife Laura now living at 468 Princess ive. Born in Campbellton, New Brunswick, Jack wns cducnted there and at Mount /lliscn and University of New Brun- swick, He joined the company here as = pulp tester on Sept. 15/52 after having worked a number of summers with the Resti- gouche Company at Campbellton, (To those here in 1946 our friend Jack recalls to us ~ the height of our first office typist, also a Jack Dawson, who towered over 6 feet of manly frame) Roymond Boyle and wife Azilda now living at 150B Birch Crescent. Born at Fredericton nnd educated there also, Raymond was cmployed by McFarlane Motors for three years before coming up to this part of the country to work for [bitibi for a short time before joining LongLae on Sept, 11/51.
