Pas EaaLL A couple of Sundays ago, a baseball team from Terrace Bay journeyed to Marathon to take on the "Mercurys", and came out on the short end of a 6 to 5 score, Since then, considerable planning has gone into a scheme to have Marathon visit us for e doubleheader, so that our lads can have the opportunity of redeeming themselves. To- wards this end, arrnngements have been com- pleted whereby the Miercurys" will arrive here Saturday night and will then rest up for two games on Sunday. The afternoon game will get underway at 2:00 p.m. with the nitecap slated to get underwny nt 6:15 p.n. SHARP. Manager Phil Stuart has called proct- ises for the balence of the week, at the South Cemp Diemond, The first practise will take place tonight (Thursday) at 6:30 p.m. All potential baseball players who have not been contacted, are asked to be on hand in ~n effort to field the best possible teom for Sunday. These boys from Marathon arc no slouchcs and so the loenl 1lnddies are going to have to be on their toes in order to take one or both of these gomes from the visitors. The persons doing this are morc than likely uneware of the fact that, in addition to hurting the appearance of these trees, tearing the bark also hans a very bad effect on the growth and life of them. L great deal of planning and effort has been put into the preservation of these nat- ural beauties and the co-operation of all concerned in this respect will be deeply appreciated,
