ICE CHIPS Nipigon lost 2 straight gemes to Ger- aldton so we'll see no more Intermediate hockey this year.....Last night the Bantams bowed out in their quest for a championship when they were beaten 4-3 in cvertime by the Schreiber Mayfairs. This was a dandy game well worth watching and it is worthy of note that the only two league games that this team lost all season were both playoff games to the Mayfairs.....They only lose four players next year because of age limit restrictions, With a fine crop of new comers graduating frcm the Pee Wees, this team's future is well taken care of.....AS you will read elsewhere in this issue, the Pee Wee title was taken by Les Canadiens,... The Midgets are in their play-offs now and wé sincerely hope that they can bring us home a championship. Their scheduled play- off game for last night was postponed until tonight at 8:30 peM.sses.In the "Grudge Shop League! things are alsc happening. Last Fridey morning No. 4 Shift (Butler's Boys) took No. 3 Shift into camp by the score of 13 - 5...,.Thet seme night Structural whipped No. 2 Shift to the tune of 6 to 3. On Monday s.m. of this week Butler's Boys and No, 2 shift (Kenedy's Conversions) tied 3 all, This coming Friday at 9:00 p.m. (tomorrow night) Maintenance (Lunch Pails) will take cn Structural with the winner slated to take on Butler's Boys at 8:15 p.m. on Sunday. The "Pale Faces" (what! are they still on their feet) have received a chall=- enge to take on the ultimate winner of the foregoing series, next Wednesday night. All of these games are played in the Schreiber Arena,.......In the meantime the "Pale Faces" are keeping in shape by playing the Schreiber "Champs". Last night's score Terrace Bay 3, Schreiber Leesa Hockey fans last night witnessed a grim battle for supremacy, and I do mean grim, when Schreiber "Firemen" took Terrace Bay "Pale Faces" by a score of 4 - 3. Because Terrace Bay has lost the opportunity to gain possession of another trophy, Jack Burrell, referee, will not be given a soft job and Ed Pinesult, referee, is scarce this morn- ing. It was a hard, fast game with no quarter given and none asked for by either side, Penalties ~- Schreiber 6 - Terrace Bay 3 In the first period Turcotte scored for Schreiber assisted by Fisher. Be sure to attend and learn all sbout Canada's newest province, 0-0-0 COMMUNITY DANCES ; The bi-monthly Community Dances started last Friday will continue next Friday, March 21st, Although last week's attendance was nothing to write home about, the enthusiasm of the orchestra and the persons who did attend here indicated that there is a def- inite need and place in town for this type of dance, . 0-0-0 STORK CLUB Congratulations are in order to Mr. & Mrs. Elmer Persson on the arrival of a baby daughter on Monday, March 10th, Mrs, Persson will be well-remembered by many of us as being Colleen (Stokes), our former "Hello" girl on the Mill Switchboard. 0=0~0
