"Should we ever get into world war III, there probably won't be more than a handful of people left," Mr. Pearson said at a meet- ing of the Ottawa Catholic Youth Organization. He referred to the recent explo- sion of a hydrogen bomb in the South Pacific as "more devastating than all the bombs dropped on Germany and Italy during the last war." Professor Currie said there could be no danger at this dis- tance. Radioactive particles were recorded wt Saskatoon last year Trend Is To Beautify Many Cities NIAGAR/. FALLS, Ont. (CP)-- Judge H. E. Mrs. Emmerson remind- ed the members that the Women's Institute is not a wealthy wom- an's club. Branch obligations come first, then community needs, avoid long term projects which in chang- ing circumstances might place too beavy a burden on new or young members. Investigating charities seeking financial aid was suggested, also financing delegates to helpful con- ferences. Trained leaders who take responsibility can give real serv- ice. Remember obligations to the young folk and strive for better understanding between urban and rural women. 'Let us remember that we are what our dreams of yesterday, our vision of tomorrow and our reality of today have made us. With several apt quotations from wise men of the past and with a keen understanding of everyday living, Mrs. Grant Bennett spoke on the motto, "No one is rich enough to be without a neighbor". With the many problems of a neighborly community, the chief might be the party telephone. Even though it may be too late when a friendly chat is finished for the Important call, just have patience.
