From information received, the plant shown is not a true cactus plant at all, but is what is known in horticultural circles as a succulent plant. The name of the variety of succulent shown in the picture is Cooper's Star Flower, and it is a member of the Stapelia family of plants. Those who spoke to The Times- Gazette regarding the plant shown were all surprised at, the com- ments of its owner regarding an offensive odor. Kin Herb Humphries has been scurrying ground the past fe wweeks get- ting all in readiness for this grand occasion. The Guild Hall has been reserved with a sumptuous dinner in the offing. Favours entertain- ment and dancing will all add up to an enjoyable evening. At the last dinner meeting held at Arbour Lodge, the Kinsmen had the pleasure of hearing R. W. Harris. His talk on General Insur- ance was most enlightning. The meetin was cut short owing to the fact that several Board members were participat- ing in the Pic-Ax Follies and were due at rehearsals. The president reported on pro- gress by the contractors building the hospital and stated that a posi- tive completion date would be as- sessable in another week or so.
