White (PC -- Hastings-Frontenac) Tues- day in the Commons criticized the Chrysler Corporation of Canada for not replacing a car purchased by a client of his law firm. Mr. White, a lawyer in Madoc, said the eT Corporation gives no warranty or guarantee of performance for a given 'period on new cars. "In fact under the terms of the purchase any such representation or warranty is specifically ex- cluded," he said. "I think that will come as a great surprise to the public. . . Mr. White said a client pur- chased a car which turned out to be a "lemon." The car had many defects which could not be cor- reted. "It would appear that an im- Lrtant company such as Chrys- having turned out a lemon Chrysler For Not Giving Guarantee on a car like this, would at least replace it with a new car in proper shape," he said. NO WARRANTY "I hope that all purchasers of Chrysler hat an 1 take notice of the fact that this company makes no warranty of any kind and that the poor purchases must look to the dealer fi which he can get. Mr. White, OL kind in the | throne speech debate, urged the government to investigate the price of gasoline, automobiles and electrical appliances in Canada. Canadians, he said, want to know whether these high prices are caused by excessive taxation or excessive profits. E. C. Row, president ul of Chrys- ler, informed of Mr. White's re- marks said: "I have no comment to make."
