Photo by Dutton--Times Studio, Nurses Hear Talk On Public Health In Denmark Miss Bergeta Hoagland from , Denmark was the guest speaker at the combined meeting of the nursing associations of Oshawa held at McLaughlin Hall on Mon- day evening, Miss Hoagland, who was intre- duced by Miss Kathleen Deathe, is engaged in public health work in Denmark and gave interesting and informative talk on her work with the United Nations abroad. She spoke particularly on her nursing with the International Refugee Organization and the various trips she made by ship transporting the refugees to various countries. Miss Hoagland intends to nurse in the United States in the fall and hopes to continue her work with world health organizations abroad. A vote of thanks to her was pro- posed by Mrs. M. F. Armstrong. At the meeting a letter from the London community nursing regis- try was read regarding the furnish. ing of a room in memory of Miss Baker in the new wing of St. Joseph's Hospital, London, her alma mater. It was decided that $20.00 be sent to Miss Rhea Rowatt towards this project.
