Rolly Hill came to Oshawa in 1940 as Manager of the Eowra Elec- tric Construction Division, a busi- ness which had been founded by Charles Bowrza in 1920 and had been carried on by him for 20 years. In March 1943 the business was pur- chased by Messrs. Rolly Hill and Harold W. At the time of the purchase the business was being operated at 53 Prince Street and was strictly a wiring construction business. However, in April 1946, the business of Russell Wicks Radio at 12 Athol Street West was pur- chased by Messrs. Hill and Corn- ish and this purchase provided them wtih an opportunity to enter the electrical merchandising field as dealers for such prominent firms as Northern Electric, Roger's Ma- Jestic, and May Tag Agencies.
