The recent change in status of the group from a mandate to a trusteeship territory, together with greater provision for self-govern- ment made by New Zealand, has quickened interest in politics in the area and when the newly-formed legislative assembly is in session, day-to-day reports of proceedings will Be broadcast. Experiments to determine the most suitable programs were begun recently. Many observers see great possibilities in improving the wel- fare of the territory by this means. The Samoans are intelligent and ugick to learn and it is hoped that improvements in health, education and other matters will result if the new service is well handled. BROWN Correspondent Greenwood, April 27 -- A good crowd turned out on Friday evening last to hear the Sugarfoot Min- strels of Oshawa in the Township Hall at Brougham. Mr. and Mrs. McAllan, of Bramp- ton, formerly of Saskatchewan, called on Rev. A. C. and Mrs. Loff- man on Sunday. Miss Edna Green returned last week after a motor trip to Florida with her cousins, Donald and Mrs. Beckstein, of Buffalo. Everyone was pleased to see Andy Morden able to ke out again after veing off duty for several days. Wm. Clark is having hydro in- stalled in his house. Mr. and Mrs. Barlow, and fam. ily, of Audley, have taken rooms at Ernest Lyons. The community wel- comes them. The heavy rains are keeping the farmers back with seeding opera- tions. However, the pastures are greening rapidly and cattle will soon be out. Frank Johnson, of Manchester, called on his uncle, John Brown, on Sunday, Next Sunday, owing to reopening services at Kinsale, there will be no church service at Greenwood. The Greenwood choir will be at Kinsale to assist in the service of song at 11 o'clock on Sunday morn- ing. Ken and Mrs. Holliday, Jackle and Heather, of Brooklin, called on Mrs. F. W.
