HORN Correspondent Hampton, Nov, 24--Old man win- ter arrived on Monday and brought a snow fall of several inches, ac- companied by east winds. The snow-laden trees and bushes af- forded a picturesque sight, The special "Harvest Home" ser- vices at the church on Sunday were largely attended and were an in- spiration. Rev. A. E. Eustace of Orono was guest preacher at both afternoon and evening services and gave splendid messages. The church choir, under the leadership of Mrs. Ken Caverly, supplied music in the afterncon consisting of two anthems, "The Earth is Full of Thy Riches" with Mrs. Jas, Smales taking the so-/ prano solo, and "Ring Out the Sweet Message", and were asalsted by Mr. Owen Nicholas, soloist of Bowmanville, who contributed a pleasing solo, "The Lord's Prayer" by Melotte, In the evening the Rotary Club choir of Bowmanville provided two number, "The Hand That Was Wounded For Me" and "I Want My Life to Tell For Jesus", and a solo "The Prodigal" sung by George Chase, who is leader of the choir. Miss N. Horn presided at the organ for the music - dt both services, which was fitting to the messages given. At the close of the evening ser- vice tthe Rotary choir and.visiting minister and his wife were enter- tained in the church basement by the Hampton choir members; a sing-song around the piano with D. Morrison accompanying, was en- joyed after which a delicious lunch was served, Votes of appreciation were ex- pressed by the Bowmanville gentle- man for the profitable social hour, by Mrs. T. Satler to the choir for their contribution to the even- ing's service. Suitable responses were made. It was of Interest too that the new choir gowns afforded a becom- who wore them for the first time on Sunday afternoon, and which are attractive and received favor- able comment.
