Oakville Beaver | Thursday, May 11,2023 | 14 insidehalton.com Real Estate Viewpoint What’s in a Location? - By DIANE BERTOLIN - You've likely heard this the answer: Location, location, location. Location remains as important away are no longer desirable, nor are highly densified urban neighbourhoods lacking parks or greenspace. ocation means more than a house on a pretty street. Beyond the bricks, we’ve recognized the importance of connecting to nature and to our neighbours, and the convenience of having the basics of daily life near by. Terms ‘sustainable communities’ are becoming part of the real estate industry lexicon. But what do those terms mean? Simply put, these are places people really enjoy living, where life is enjoyable, entirely reliant on cars. Th are more thoughtfully designed than the sprawling suburbs or concrete jungles of the past. People can live, work and play close to their homes. These types of neighbourhoods have a mix of housing types and demographics, with parks, trails, shopping and restaurants in the mix. They have access to transit. They are places where the kids can ride their bikes to school, or where families can enjoying playing in parks, hiking on trails or strolling to get ice cream. Amenities such as grocery stores, coffee shops, pharmacies, are in the neighbourhood or close by. These communities nurture relationships between neighbours and within the community. While condo communities, surrounded by stores, restaurants and on transit lines, are good locations for confirmed urbanites, many people, especially those who can work from home, are moving outside the 416, where they can afford a townhomes or detached home to raise a family or mmodate multiple generations under Yet they want the convenience of finding what they need close to home and the ability to connect with neighbours. If you’re looking for a home, single family, townhome or condo, consider what location means to you. Look at more than just the dwelling or the street it’s on. Look at the ‘complete’ picture and whether it will give your family all you need to enjoy your lifestyle to its full potential.
