In 2022, Food for Life became my happy place: | volunteer with joy and work very hard to make my time there count. | love seeing regular clients and greeting them with a smile and friendly bk oreeting. | have a real soft ma spot for parents with young AA children and take great pleasure in helping them find special treats for their little ones. I've made some new friends among other volunteers and am happy to have been able to steer some of my friends to find support at Food for Life. The diverse forms of sharing our time, talent, and energy strengthen the fabric of Halton Region. Through volunteering, we experience our interconnected- ness, making our lives more meaningful. Getting involved in various ways, we find friendship, develop trust, and link our relationships. Threading these connections, we come to belong as we contribute toward the same goals. Changing the world does not mean that we need to do extraordinary things. Sometimes, it just means offering a help- ing hand to someone in need. Over the past 12 months, Halton has seen VOLUNTEER. the return of many much-loved activities and events, including the Sound of Music Festival, RibFest, DONATE. and the Milton Multicultural Festival as well as the re-opening of cultural institutions and the return of organized sports with their fans. Organizations forced to only engage essential staff and volun- teers during the height of the pandemic are now opening their doors to welcome back volunteers in larger numbers.
