Miss Emily, aka Emily Fen- nell who grew up in Milford has been nominated as the 2022 Female Vocalist of the Year in the Maple Blues awards. As part of a Wom- en’s Blues Revue, she played Massey Hall in To- ronto last week. Emily is the daughter of Monica Alyea and Lynn Fennell. It’s easy to bid and to pay, too—all online. After the auction, pick-up points will be available not only in Picton, but also in Kingston, Ottawa, and Toronto. Because of the generosity of the businesses and indi- viduals who donated items to the sale, the auction in- cludes gorgeous art and one -of-a-kind crafts, exciting nature expeditions and ex- periences for the whole family, professional services, books and toys, gift baskets, yummy treats, and much more. The Auction represents one of PEPtBO’s most im- portant fundraisers, since the not-for-profit organiza- tion must raise all the funds needed to operate the sta- tion. PEPtBO has extended its migration monitoring and reporting to a year-round activity, making revenue from the auction essential to building capacity to contrib- ute first-class data essential to bird conservation efforts across Canada. As of the end of the au- tumn migration monitoring season, October 31, Bander- in-charge Phil Mercier, Asso- ciate Bander-in-charge Jess Daze with PEPtBO’s dedicat- ed volunteers banded 10,805 birds with 92 species represented. September 8th County, PEPtBO also provides hands-on education to the County’s children through its NatureHood program and plays an important role in attracting nature lovers to the region.
