It wasn’t exactly love at first sight but it was close to it when in September 2016, Kerry White came to explore the County he had heard so much about from his turbo charged boating buddies who were regulars at “Thunder on the Reach”, the signature boating event that featured the famous Miss Supertest hydroplaning through County waters. They agreed to make the trip to Milford to help Kerry get started on the first stages of renovation — the tearing down, tearing out and shoring up tasks. They would drive in on Monday and drive home on Friday. Gradually, Kerry met local tradesmen who were available to help. The “Vaughan Boys” from Jack Vaughan Car- Ce d travelled from Calgary to ride with his brother, Doug. They, and more than 200 other riders came with a commitment — to raise mon- ey for research to find a cure for Parkinson’s Disease. The Milford Fair Board did not want this occasion to pass by unmarked. So, while there will be no fair this year, they pro- duced a Milford Fall Fair memento containing many milestones and memories. See it in this edition of The Mirror! See you at the Fair next year!
