Remind them to stop by the library to pick up a very important school supply - their public library card. It's free, and unlike a Sesame Street lunchbox is guaranteed to be useful throughout their school career. In addi(cid:415)on to providing access to books on almost any topic, your public library card also gives you virtual access to our e-resources. For students learning French, access Mango Languages from anywhere with an internet connec(cid:415)on to prac(cid:415)ce in a conversa(cid:415)onal style. Find it at peclibrary.org and then click on Find Stuff and then online resources. Use your library card number & four-digit PIN to register for an account. For older students, Kanopy might be a useful online service. It is a film streaming service specializing in though(cid:414)ul entertainment including documentaries and classic films. It is a great way to delve deeper into a topic of study. Teachers will be happy to know that all Kanopy films come with public performance rights, so they are available to be shared with classes. Kanopy is also accessed with library card & PIN. Some of the topics available include the Arts, Educa(cid:415)on, Global Studies and Science and Social Sciences. There are even some instruc(cid:415)onal Math and Science videos. You can access most of the library's electronic resources from anywhere with an internet connec(cid:415)on, and if you don't have internet access at home, we have both computers you can use as well as WIFI which is accessible 24 hours a day. Did you know you can borrow the internet from your library? We now have mobile internet devices you can borrow for a week at a (cid:415)me! Drop by any branch of the library for more informa(cid:415)on. Mark your calendar... Saturday, September 16 - The Friends of the Milford Branch Library will have a book & DVD sale at the Milford Fair with a special visit from Anne Preston of County Kids Read who will be giving books to children. Sunday, October 22 - The Friends of the Milford Branch Library present a talk about the history of the Ann Farwell Library with speaker Nancy Butler. More details to come! Please note that with Labour Day, come our fall hours - the Bloomfield and Milford Branches of the Library will be now closed on Fridays.
