Along in the evening Ina and Mirt and I went over to Mary E. and then who should come along but Ida Annie Maud Dan Nelson Ostrander. We all come over here and stay awhile Sun. 17 - Ina went down to mee(cid:415)ng Byron was out to Tom Wa(cid:425)am's A (cid:332)er dinner Mirt and I drove down to Dan's Nelse and Annie Maud were there Emmet and Mary Ellen. Nelse has a new buggy and it is a dandy. He was tell- ing us that Jake got a new buggy Mon. 18 - I went out to Bloomfield with a grist the roads were very dusty. Along about noon we got a li(cid:425)le shower of rain Tue. 19 - A day of excitement Mirt was taken sick in the morning Emmet went down to Picton a(cid:332)er Aunt Lib and the doctor They arrived about eleven oclock And at three oclock a lovely Boy baby came to our happy home. I felt pre(cid:425)y proud when I knew that Mirt was alright. Wed. 20 - I am feeling like a differen person since I can think we have a nice boy baby to put in our (cid:415)me in with. Mirt is smart to day. We are having very warm weather and dry. Ina is here with us doying the house work. We did a big washing to day. Thur. 21 - Ina and I wash to day again Mirt and the bot is real smart and doying as well as can be ex- pected. Aunt Lib is with us yet nursing and tending to Mirt and the baby. Fri. 22 - Byron is fi(cid:427)ng up the corn and tomatoes ground. I am staying around the house most of the (cid:415)me looking a(cid:332)er the boy and Mirt. Richard Wa(cid:425)am came here to night a(cid:332)er his mother we are very sor- ry to have her go Sat. 23 - We were glad to see Mr. Spafford and wife drive up this four noon They were quite anxious to see the boy. Mirt is s(cid:415)ll improving Sun. 24 - Mr. Spafford an wife started for home a(cid:332)er dinner It threatened rain some. Mirt and the baby are ge(cid:427)ng along fine. Archie was here for awhile to see the boy. A(cid:332)er tea Ina and I drove up to the Banks Mary E and Emmet Archie and Edward Far- rington were there we had some sport on the Banks Mon. 25 - I planted some Beans and marked out my corn ground Some change in the weather cooler Tue. 26 - Ina and I washed again to day Then I planted some field corn. Look very much like rain all day. Mirt and the baby are ge(cid:427)ng along fine Mirt was up to day se(cid:427)ng in a chair. Wed. 27 - I cul(cid:415)vated rolled and mark out the young orchard for tomatoes. Byron and I drew manure all day on where I intend to put tomatoes. Sat. 2 - I ploughed. Byron went out to Jake's to- wards night. Jen. and Frank were down to Picton They heard that Florance had a big Boy and it was dead but that Florance was smart. Sun. 3 - Ina Mirt and I were over to Mary E. Dan and Ida were up. There was a funeral to day Mr. Mar(cid:415)n on the ridge road li(cid:425)le boy. Mr. Mar(cid:415)n shot his li(cid:425)le boy through accident thinking it was a wood chuck. Mon. 4 - Byron ploughed Ina Mirt and I planted some early potatoes in the garden Tue. 5 - I made a cooling bed for tomatoes I think we are going to have nicer weather now to day has been fine Wed. 6 - We have been working with two teams to day Balling with the one and the other we were dragging and cul(cid:415)va(cid:415)ng and to day it has been fine my tomatoes are ready for transplan(cid:415)ng Ina is snor(cid:415)ng around with a cold in her head Thur. 7 - Byron cul(cid:415)vated most of the day. I started to transplant my tomatoes Fri. 8 - I drilled in part of another field of oats. That finishes me up sowing. I sowed about 55 bushels Sat. 9 - Planted my potatoes dropped them for me We had them all in by noon Sun. 10 - Jake and Lib came out visi(cid:415)ng It was a lovely day very warm Mirt was put in a very restless night with the tooth ache Mon. 11 - Byron finished rolling the grain Ina and I transplanted plants s(cid:415)ll the weather con(cid:415)nues warm. Mirt is some be(cid:425)er to day with her tooth Tue. 12 - Ina helped transplant we are having nice warm weather Wed. 13 - Byron finished ploughing the young or- chard. I finished transplan(cid:415)ng Thur. 14 - Mirt Ina and I went back to the woods I went back a(cid:332)er some bars Ina and Mirt went a(cid:332)er some lilies.
