A wonderful person, friend and aide, so loyal and tue, one ina million — that person was you. Justin your judgment, always right; honest and liberal, ever upright; loved by your friends and all whom you knew. Our wonderful friend ~ that person was you. HANK YOU The Donaldson family of Stratford would like to express its deepest gratitude to the staff, nurses and in particular Dr. Michael Koke for their compassionate Support and expert care of Lorene during her health journey at Grand River Hospital, Freeport Campus. Ongoing, compassionate care is the foundation of the Continuum of Care program at Grand River Hospital, where specialized treatment for patients living with or recovering from chronic and complex health conditions is provided to our loved ones in the surrounding community. Lorene was a pioneering leader in the community of Stratford, where together with her husband, John, they founded Lori-Jo grocery store. The Donaldson name was too long to fit across the marquee, so they shortened each of their first names to create a new moniker that would be heralded in the city for over 45 years. Lorene began receiving care from the team at Freeport and Dr. Koke after being diagnosed with vascular dementia in the fall of 2021. We are truly grateful for the exceptional care she received, where she was treated as a person first with a life’s devotion to the community. Notably, Dr. Koke and his team took the time to learn about the things that were meaningful to Lorene, like her love of art, being a grandmother and her experience as an entrepreneur with Lori-Jo. This incredible level of compassion, attentiveness and care is wh grateful and decided to make a gift to Grand River Hospital. Our goal is to help others receive the best possible care.
