(AP)-- The heart that carried Merrick through 205 races from 1905 through 1915 still is ticking in the oldest of thoroughbred horses known to be alive today. On Jan. 1, universal age-change date of all race horses, Merrick will be 38 years old. There's :sadness in the voice of his owner, J. C.
