It is mow oveN ' twenty years since George Allchin mude his first venture in the "business world, and since that time he has moved steadily for- ward until today he heads an es- tablishment of which he may well be proud, and which promises to grow and develop in the future just as it has done in the past. Away back in 1910, George All- chim opened a general garage business in 'Bowmanville, and it progressed so favorably that in 1914 he opened a branch garage fn what was then the thriving town of Oshawa. The opening of thig Oshaws branch was a begin- ring of his interests in this city, and how they have grown is #hown by the snlendid new pre- miges now occupied by the com- ranv hearing his name. It 'was not long until the Osh- awa business, then located on Diks street, became the main enterprise, and the Bowmanville garage was closed. After two wears in the original Duke street rrémises. Mr. Allchin moved to Simcoe Street North, where he océnpied the store at nresent oc- enpied by the Johns' Music Shop. The Allchin Company has always been noted for this department, and gives service for all makés of radio sets, having the best equip- ped radio service department ia Canada.
