Much appreciation is due the committee, Mrs, Roach, Mr, Moore, and Mr. Ferguson, for the excellent success of the evening. The meet- ing opened at 7.30 with commun- ity singing until 8, when a most interesting debate followed with E, Crozier, leader of the afirmative and Sam Masters, leader of the negative. The topic chosen was "Resolved that a good natural slouch was more to be desired than a tidy erank." The negative side were the winners by only three points. Next followed exciting games for prizes. The prize winn- ing games called for quick work and thought. Three tied for first and were given equal prizes, Mrs. James Mitchell, Miss ret and Miss' Dorothy Roper. The following committee was appointed for the next meeting of the club, rant Christie, Sam Mas- ters, and Miss Aletha Barret. Mr, and Mrs. Lorne Thompson were recent visitors at the home of the latter's parents, Mr. and Mrs. Edward Williams, of Prince Albert. The various automobile owners who have to use the highway a great deal through the winter, owe much' appreciation to the faithfui| work of the snow plow which has kept the road open for them, of- ten passing through here at two or three o'clock in the morning. The various snow fences are also of great help, but the farmers ar- ound who have their winter's sup- ply of wood to get home find it dificult owing to the road being Aletha Bar- |deprived of snow. : Those from here who attended the carnival at the Port Perry rink enjoyed the evening immensely. Quite a number arc planning on attending the tournament the Port Perry Hockey Club is holding on.
