This output was 9 per cent greater than the pre- vious peak of 242,054 cars attained in 1926, the third best year for the industry, says a report issued by the Dominion Bureau of Statistics. AUGER Warrant Issued at Noon on Instructions of Justice Raney Ottawa, Jan, 30.--The swering out of a charge of perjury against Louis M. Auger was the latest de- velopment at noon today in the sensational case against the former member of parliament for Prescott county. The levelling of the new charge came on the heels of an ac- quittal by jury o nthe count of criminally assaulting a 17-year-old girl and a legal tangle as to wheth- er the accused might face trial op a charge of seduction before a judge or jury. The warrant against Auger on the perjury charge was sworn out on instructions of Mr. Justice W. E. Raney, who presided at the third trial of .the.ex-M.P., on the charge of criminal assault. The new charge grew out of the state- ment of Auger, under oath, that a woman had not been in his room in the House of Commons on the morning of 'Feb, 15, 1929, when it was visited by two detec- tives of the Commons staff.
