Warder, The Game Cedardale came out on top of a hard checking game on rather poor ice, Team play won the game for Cedardale. Ritson was rather slow and Cedardale skated right around them, trophy cup for keeps which they will do if they win it this year, George Elizuk, though the smallest man on the ice played a whale of a game. The careful coaching of S. Simcoe was very cvident in their skilful team play. Next week marks the mid-season in public school hockey, On Monday night North Simcoe and King Street ing out against a boy who had a style similar to that of the loca! lad an dthis gave the impression that he intended to carry the bout to Rocco all the way, Last night at the Coliseum, Davies let some 7,000 or more spectators into his secret and ,as had been supposed, his scheme of tactics was to out- tocco Rocco and the local boy en- countered the first opponent who Spills, hrills . and heart throbs! ore than two thousand hockey fans witnessed the treat of the season last wight when the Oshawa Seniors came trom behind to tie up the score with Belleville in the last period and then battled vainly to score the winning gozl for thirty minutes of overtime, Going into the last period with the score two to onc against them, the Belleville tcam tried hard for eight minutes and then ran in two goals in quick succession to put them one goal ahead. The crowd yelled en- couragement to the Oshawa team and begged for the tying goal and, with about four minutes to go, Houck flashed up the ice and scored with a lovely shot from outside the defence, Then the two teams battled for three ten-minute overtime periods, and every trick known, was tried in order to produce the winning goal, but in vam. The Oshawa team had «-2 slight edge on the first two over- time and in the final spasm they completely dominated the play, but they could not score. Seven times an Oshawa man was right through the defence and with only the goal- tender to beat, but Jeffrey, in the nets for Belleville, was not giving anything away, and he saved cvery shot, some of which looked almost impossible. One of the pecularities of the game was the number of goals scored on plays that were just a trifle offside. Belleville scored a goal in the sec- sond period that was not counted and in the final period Oshawa scored jour goals but only one of the tal- lies was allowed. Oshawa scored "during the overtime also, but this goal was likewise offside. The game aas not very rough, atlhough the checking was fairly heavy. Houck, was the most useful man on the Oshawa team. He played a sterling game on the defence and he took care of the rebounds in fine style. He also made some nice "tushes. Conlin, who played on the defence for a large part of the game showed plenty of speed and stick- handling ability. He should develop into a good defence man. Bond play- ed a good game at centre and Le- veque in the nets, made several smart saves. re The Belleville club can thank their goal tender Jeffrey for saving them from a defeat, Time and time again, especially during the overtime per- iod, he saved what looked like sure goals and he handled himself coolly S.
