Smyth, Welling- ton, Is Special Speaker For Occasion Ebenezer, June 11,--Ideal wea- ther favored both the Sunday and Monday services of Ebenezer Sun- day School Anniversary and the annual function was a success throughout. The opening service was held at 10.30 'o'clock on Sun- day morning, June 9. Rev. J. W. Smyth, of Wellington, occupied the pulpit and preached an excellent sermon from the text Philippians 3:13-14, He also told an inter- esting and helpful story to the cun- dren. The choir sang two anthems and Mesdames G. F. Annis, A. E, Rundle and W. R. Courtice also sang during the service. At 2.30 o'cock in the afternoon the Church and Sunday School room were packed and the large audience were well rewarded, for another good service was held. Rev. Smyth was the speaker and gave two interesting and inspiring talks. The first was a story for the children of the Sunday School. Following the story, Rev. Smyin gave an inspiring talk on '"'Charac- ter." The junior members of the Sunday School sang a pretty chor- us.
