B, Walker and Miss Mary Walker were in Toronto for a few days this week. Congratulations to Mr. and Mrs. Mansell Gerrow, on the birth of their baby boy. One of Port Perry's oldest resi- dents Dr. J. O, Murray died on January 16th, after a short illness, at the home of his son, Mr. Fred Murray, in Canton, Ohio, Dr. Mu- ray was born in Ingersoll in 1845 and had lived in Port Perry for 63 years. He is survived by one son Mr, Fred Murray, Canton Ohio and one daughter Mrs. McKenzie, of Akron Ohio, also several grand- children. The funeral service was held in the church of the Ascension, and was conducted by Rev. T. A. Nind, A great many old friends were present. Interment was in Pine Grove Cemetery, The death occurred on Monday Jan, 21st, of Mrs. Rosanna Piety Nott, another old resident of Port Perry. Mrs, Nott recently celebrate her 91st birthday. Sunday School In spite of the weatherman last Sunday mornng there was an attend- ance of 83 at Sunday school which is very encouraging to our superinten- dent, Mr, John Mark. The Sunday school report was not given at the Mr. and Mrs, Charles Wilson of Myrtle visited the latter's parents, Mr. and Mrs. Geo. Clements recently. Mr, and Mrs. J. Rowe and family of Whitby were guests of Mr. and Mrs. J. Shunk on Tuesday evening, We are glad to report Mrs. Rowe's mother, Mrs. Lamb, improving slow- ly from her very serious illness. Mrs. Lamb is at present with her daugh- ter, Mrs, J. Shunk, Mr. L. Scott is in Toronto this week on some mining business of which he has an interest. : Mrs. S. J. Wooldridge attended the funeral of her uncle, Mr. John Leask, in Port Perry. The sympathy of the community is extended to Mrs. Wooldridge and Mr. H. Leask and family of deceased.
