He was remanded un- til Friday morning for sentence. The jury deliberated on the case for an hour and a half, and fol- lowing the verdict, Mr, Herring- ton, counsel for the accused, asked for a poll, which showed that the jurors were unanimous in their verdict, In his address to the jury Mr, Herrington contended that the accused had not acted as a guilty man, If he knew that the fur coats had been stolen, he would not have kept them in his car for ten days ,he said, and certainly would not have left the bill of sale in one of the pockets. He felt that it was not an extraordinary thing on the part of the accused, to give a fictitious name when selling the coat in Belleville, as he didn't want his friends to know that he was selling coats. Mr, Rigney submit- ted that it was not necessary to show that Vrooman had stolen the coats, but that they were wrong- fully in his possession. He felt that the evidence showed conclus- ively that the accused was guilty of the crime as charged. 7.25 KYW (294)--Chicago, Book Man; Or- S, WKRC, 7.30 NRO (4345-0 Dick dh g . o tta » . KMA lana.
