Marjorie Thomas died
unexpectedly on August 19 at
the Lakeridge Health Oshawa
Hospital. Marjorie was born on
August 21, 1929, in Cottrell's
Cove, Newfoundland. After
she completed her high
school, she attended
Memorial University of
Newfoundland to obtain her
teacher's certificate.
Subsequently she taught in
Botwood, then St. John's, NL,
and later Windsor and
Oshawa, Ontario. In 1951 she
married Frederick Thomas
and they lived in Ajax, then
settled in Courtice, where
Marjorie attained her Real
Estate license and practiced in
that field for over 25 years
.During retirement Marjorie
enjoyed many summer visits
to her family home in
Newfoundland. She especially
appreciated celebrating
her 90th. birthday in the very
home in which she was born,
with an assortment of siblings,
children, grandchildren and
great-grandchildren.
Predeceased by four siblings,
Marjorie is survived by her
husband, Fred, brother Paul
(Sharon) three children David
(Sandra), Douglas, and
Heather (John), six
grandchildren and eleven
greatgrandchildren plus an
extended family of nieces and
nephews. A private
Celebration of Life is planned
for a future date.
