Icy grip holds tight on Lake Scugog As of press time for this issue of Focus on Scugog, obvious signs that the ice covering Lake Scugog was going to recede any time soon, were pretty scarce. With temperatures finally getting slightly above freezing for most of March, there was anticipation that Lake Scugog would loosen its icy grip a little earlier this year. This does not appear to be the case. Last year, the ice finally disap- peared off Lake Scugog on April 16, one of the latest dates in recent years. Hopefully we'll see the blue sky re- flecting off the shimmering lake water long before that. We'll keep you posted.
