Hot cars and hot chili at Cartwright Fall Festival and Classic Car Show Come celebrate the harvest and bring your family and friends to the “Fall Festival & Classic Car Show” be- ing held at Cartwright Fields in Nestleton on Saturday, October 4th. This fun-filled afternoon runs from 1 p.m. -5 p.m. and is packed with activities, events, contests, fun and games for everyone with your entry fee of $5 for all ages and children under are two free. The theme this year is “Hot Cars & Hot Chili” with the return of the popular Classic Car Show open to all makes & models 1990 and older. There will be prizes & draws for this event so come and show off your classic model to “Show it before you Stow It” for the winter . Returning again is the Chili Cook-Off contest. There are $100 cash prizes for the Judge’s Choice and the People’s Choice categories. Included in the price of admission for the children, we will have a giant, 70’ inflatable obstacle course, face painting, a loonie-in-a-bale search, Scugog’s Fire Safety House, ‘Kids Funzone’ area with crafts, colouring con- test, plus draws, prizes and more for the little ones. Have the kids decorate a scarecrow or a pumpkin at home (or buy one on-site to decorate) to enter in the contests for best carved / decorated pumpkin and best- dressed scarecrow. Back again are the horse-drawn wagon ride, the penny table and silent auction. New this year will be ‘Corn Bingo’ for the young and the young-at-heart to join and have some fun. Refreshments and BBQ will be available during the afternoon. This community fundraising event is hosted by Cartwright Sports & Recreation’s volunteers to give for our local ies and families to gather together to celebrate the fall season and raise funds to continue to enhance the Park and facilities at Cartwright Fields.
