The Community Care Bake Sale in Uxbridge was a very popular place on Thursday. Thanks to all who helped. On Friday evening a full house at Epsom Church for the Social Club Christmas dinner and pro- gram. A dashing visit from San- ta with time for a "Ho-Ho-Ho." Lots of laughs and treats for everyone. One was reminded of Christ's birth by the wicker clothes basket under the beautiful tree decorated by Pat Sutherland and the Sunday School class. This was full to overflowing with gifts for "Loaves and Fishes." The next day a beautiful Christmas tree arrived at the church which was a gift from Doug Taylor. Our grateful thanks. He stayed to help. John and Pat Sutherland and their family decorated the tree while Faye Ashton and Don Asling decorated the windows with a little help from Vicki. Sunday was White Gift Sunday at 11 a.m. The children took part in this service. Dale Slack and her daughter lit the Advent Candle of Joy. Last week Cathy Stevenson and son James lit the Candle of Peace. Meet at the church this Sunday evening at 7:30 for the Christmas Concert. Parents bring finger food for a social hour after the concert. The children took part in the White Gift Service. They sang "What A Gift Can I Give."' Then a skit followed by the chorus sing- ing, "God is Great." Christmas Eve meet at Utica Church at 8:45 for Christmas Eve Service followed by Communion Service. Grandma Mound of Utica kept the home fires bright while Jill and Gord Postma took a few days break from the regular routine. Mrs. Murison's father, Mr. Bert Grassick of Toronto, has been visiting the Murison family for a few days. We hope he will make his home in Epsom soon. Levon Belair started school at *C be carolling on Thursday Epsom recently. The very first day he broke his arm on some of the play equipment. A winter's night greeted friends who gathered at the home of Ross and Barbara Evans on Saturday evening for a beautiful Christmas dinner which was followed by an evening of singing, games, skits and a visit from St. Nick. Thank you to Anita Evans, Ann Beare and Marg Bruce our directors and to the children who took part in the program. We wish Marion Hempson a speedy recovery as she had the misfortune to break her wrist. Congratulations to Ed and Gloria Orvac who after having three beautiful girls have recent- ly been blessed with a baby boy -- congratulations. Mr. Gourlie is pleased to be home for Christmas after a lengthy stay in the hospital. Dec. 20 - the school children will have a skating party at Uxbridge Arena in the morning.
