Auction went over ex- tremely well. Much thanks for everyone's support. More de- tails will be available in the next column. Monday, Sept. 9, we held Bowling for Dollars. Our top winner was Mr. Lionel Blaikie with a prize of $5. We also had lots of other lucky winners. With the season of Fall ap- proaching us quickly we got in- volved in a discussion on Au- tumn. A beautiful poem was recited for this occasion. Midweek we celebrated a Teacher's Day. A special Teacher's Tea was held to hon- or residents that were at one time teachers. We honored Mrs. H. Petty, Miss M. Mero, Mrs. U. Sleep, Mrs. M. How- sam, and Mrs. M. Brock. Eve- ryone enjoyed the delightful pi- ano playing by Claire Whitter. We also got into a large discus- sion on teaching then and now. Thursday was a busy day as we worked on a variety of crafts for our upcoming Christ- mas Bazaar. This week ended with a boat trip on the Skylark Boat. We enjoyed our wonderful tour along with our friends from Cannington Nursing Home. We were gone for three hours and travelled through the Trent System Waterway. A de- lightful commentary of special places, sights and facts was given. A super sing-along was led by the ship's captain. Monday the 16th we held our Monthly Resident's Coun- cil meeting. Many last minute plans were in action for the G.S.T. auction. An afternoon treat of ice cream cones was a great treat. Midweek we celebrated Sep- tember birthdays with the monthly birthday party. A spe- - cial thanks to Mr. Ivan Barrett for playing the keyboard for us. If your group or organization is interested in sponsoring this birthday party next Septem- ber, then please contact us.
