President Ilean Pugh opened with a peom "Autumn" Hymn *'O God Our Help In Ages Past" was sung. Dorothy Hope read from Psalm 79-13 105 8-9. Beth Pereman took us on a journey into the past of the work of the ladies in the church. Hymn "Work For The Night Is Coming" was sung. Roll call: "Ideas for the future of the church in the next 25 years," was answered by seven- teen ladies. The thought of most of the ladies is that they would like to have more people joining with us in all parts of the church life but keep the same friendly feeling we have. "Blest Be The Tie That Binds," closed the devo- tion. The secretary read the minutes of the last meeting and the treasurer gave a report. Men"s Bible study has resumed The Seagrave Beavers, Cubs and Scouts are holding a bottle drive on Sept. 28 in the morn- ing to help aise funds. The boys will coming door to door collecting returnable de- posit bottles, eg. pop bottles, r bottles and beer cans. CL . e are reminding our com- munity this week of the Sea- grave United Church 88th an- niversary service that will be held this Sunday, Sept. 22. The - "service this week will be at 11 a.m. Special soloist will be Marilyn Porter and our guest aker will be Ted Farrow, airman of the Stroke Survi- vor Group. Ted helps motivate stroke survivors from his personal ex- perience of surviving three strokes and a heart attack since 1980. For the past eight years he has been helping oth- er survivors adjust to their new lifestyle. He has been rec- ognized on a number of occa- sions, receiving the Canada Lifestyle Award in 1987, volun- teer of the year from the Dis- trict Health Council, and most recently was featured in a sto- ry on Global Television. Mr. Farrow provides a sym- pathetic and understanding ear to fellow strokers and their families. He provides honest advice and emotional support to people having problems and shows through his daily living that there is 'life after a stroke." The Seagrave Ladies are asked to bring sandwiches or finger desserts for a social hour following the service. There will be nursery help provided to look after our young ones. Men are reminded that the Men's Bible study has resumed at the Seagrave church on Thursdays at 9 p.m. after choir practice.
